Tim Cook: here's where you should get Android instead of iPhone

Apple iOS has long been known as a "walled field", as it did not allow anything to come out of the interface and features on your iPhone. Gradually it opened up its easy-to-use options, allowing for things like third-party keyboards, browsers, and even widgets. In line with that, Apple's commitment to privacy and security, as well as Apple's great success in continuing its research, has prevented unexpected surprises like Pegasus' spyware in its control. For example, Apple executives have been temporarily warning that installing unauthorized apps, called "downloads", is a nightmare for security which is why Apple did not allow it on iPhones.
Speaking during the New York Times DealBook conference, Apple CEO Tim Cook defended the move by suggesting that you should buy an Android phone if you want to do so:
I think people have that choice today, Andrew, if you want to set aside, you can buy an Android phone. That option is available when you log in to the carrier store. If that is important to you, you should buy an Android phone. In our view it would be as if I was a car manufacturer telling [the customer] not to install airbags and seat belts in the car. He would never think of doing this today. It is very dangerous to do that. And so it would not be an iPhone if it did not increase security and privacy.
Long story short, there is good reason to block iPhone users when it comes to unauthorized app installation, and, even if they have good reason to want such programs, Apple is concerned that letting them in will open the app. Flood safety gates present challenges that will not be easy to close at that time. What do you think?
